HISTORY

Humble Beginnings


The first meeting at Hanscoms Truck Stop in Portsmouth set out to help resolve the real problem of Police Departments cutting police dog programs and others not even considering them. How to turn back this trend was the agenda. Since then, the Working Dog Foundation has grown to over 100 life and annual members with over 2,000 fans at our last open house. Since 1995, we have made tremendous progress in ‘helping to keep our families safe’ and have become internationally recognized for our efforts in promoting police/working dogs throughout the world.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Since 1995 we have raised over $200,000 towards the training, purchasing, and supporting police dogs. Our trainers are nationally recognized. And that’s just the beginning:

In addition to locating and placing qualified dogs, the Working Dog Foundation raises funds and provides facilities for training, testing, and certifying police dogs and their handlers.
